Broken cambelt

Hi,
I have a 85 leone, and the cambelts broken. I've never replaced a broken cambelt, but I have all the tools and information needed to do the job. But is there anything else that I'm going to have to do to the car after replacing the belts.

What engine is that.
My 92 Loyale has EA82. Both cams are driven by two timing belts.
If you have EA81 or any other engie you will find tons of information at www.ultimatesubaru.org

Replacing timing belts on EA82 takes me about 4 hours. This is not a rocket science and is possible to do by a human been.

yea its an Ea82. Only the left side belt has broken, the right side looks ok, but I'am thinking I should replace that as well. Now because the belt has actually broke, is there anything else I am going to have to repair, replace or reset because of that? People talk about all soughts of other problems that happen when a cambelt breaks and I've only got instructions (via the manual) on how to "Replace" a cambelt.

If it is avaible, buy Haynes manual. This is my best friend. You will find everything you need there.

Since it is envolved so much work you better replace both belts.

You also have to check for play both tensioners.

Replace crankshatf seal.

Replace both camshaft seals.

Haynes recomends to raplace water pump. That what I did.

People usualy reseal oil pump.

At the previous timing belt replacement I failed to replace idling gear and sure enough it broke my timing belt only after I belive 10,000 miles.
So it is cheapper to do it while you have everything opened.
