Electronic Control Module?

Hey everyone,

Everday the past week my 2001 Saturn SL1 has been giving me trouble when starting it. It sometimes take about 5 minutes before the ignition turns over. I brought it to a local Aamco station to get it checked out and I'm told the problem is the Electronic Control Module and it will cost about $400.

I have been told by a couple of other mechanics (who have not looked at the car) that if the ECM went the car wouldn't start at. I haven't gotten it fixed yet but my car did not give me any problems over the weekend.

Now its been very cold here in Philly the past week so I don't know if that might have something to do with it or if I should just get teh ECM replaced.

Does any have any info/ advice that you can provide? Thanks in advance!
