1989 Toyota 4X4 4 speed SR5 pickup won't start
I have a 1989 Toyota 4X4 SR5 Pickup with a 4 speed manual tranny. Sometimes after the truck is driven and shut off it won't start. In fact it won't do anything. Starter doesn't click or anything. Let the truck cool off for a few hours then it will start up normally. It doesn't do this all the time just intermittantly. Any ideas what would need to cool off that would keep it from starting????It always starts when cold.....Thanks.....

Could be the starter solenoid.

Re: 1989 Toyota 4X4 4 speed SR5 pickup won't start
sounds like a starter solenoid to me too - you may be able to get away with just changing the contacts in the solenoid itself - you can get them from the dealer for about 40 cents a piece (you only need 2) - if that doesnt do it then use a multimeter and check your ignition wires running from the switch to the starter
