I'm having trouble locating the plug to drain the coolant in my wife's '02 Malibu. It has build up around the pressure cap so I definately need to change the coolant. Can someone fill me in on where that plug is? Thanks.

Re: 02 Malibu Coolant Flush
I assume 3100 v6? How many miles?
I remove the lower hose to drain radiator. There are two drain plugs on the block.. one between starter and oil filter, one near crank sensor. -Mark T. |

Re: 02 Malibu Coolant Flush
My bad, yeah 3100cc V6. I found the one on the lower right hand side on the radiator itself but I couldn't locate the block drains. But your info does help. Thanks a lot Mark.

Re: 02 Malibu Coolant Flush
Change your coolant bottle cap if it's the original one.

Re: 02 Malibu Coolant Flush
If you change the puke tank cap, make sure you get an OE replacement with the same pressure rating.
If there's any buildup inside the tank, it's a pretty good idea to remove it from the vehicle and soak it real good, then flush the hell out of it. -Mark T. |
