1996 continental suspension question?
I have a 1996 Continental and there is a clunking noise coming from the rear. I have had this similar problem with other vehicles that I have, and my diagnosis was rear struts. I called up to my local parts store
...and asked for the price on some rear struts on my car. The guy told me that I would have to buy the whole air ride components to replace the struts because it is all one piece. Well I am not really buying into that, but if anyone does know for a fact that I can just buy the struts seperate or do I have to buy the new air ride components?

Re: 1996 continental suspension question?
Here's what you have: http://www.arnottindustries.com/part...id2_pid15.html
Some components will be re-usable and some are changed as a "common sense" maintenance item. There are literally 100's of suppliers of original style components and conversion kits. Their all over eBay too ![]() Make sure that clunk isn't something else first.

Re: 1996 continental suspension question?
You probably have some urethane bushing issues in your rear stabilizer bar and or stabilizer links. These will make a hollow clunking sound when you go over bumps. I've replaced some of mine already and the thunk thunk is gone. Your car would be sitting on the ground if it were your air ride.
