Smile TechArt Cayman GT

Hi all,

Been back at the bench some playing with the new Cayman S kit. After some quick measuring discovered the Tamiya GT3 body parts would fit on it nicely and they look alot like TechArt's kit.

I sawed the bottom 3/16" or so from the GT3 front end and glued it to the Cayman body....the contours of both are so close it didn't need any filling, just a bit of sanding to bring the two shapes in tune.

I sawed the sideskirt from the break line down off the Cayman and glued a back-up strip of plastic to the inside of the Cayman body...then glued the GT3 skirts in place.

Sawed the rear lower corners from the GT3 body and glued them over the Cayman's rear corners just to bring the body a bit lower back there.(the TechArt kit doesn't have these.

The bodywork is a little deeper than TechArt's. The rear spoiler is just a mock-up, still looking for something not too big for it.

These rims will be used but the lip will be chrome and the spokes semi gloss black.

Not sure about body colour yet.

Re: TechArt Cayman GT

Wow,

very good idea and very promissing start !

It gives to the caiman a better look than it's original one which I don't particularely love...

But this model will be great, for sure !
Do you have some pics of the Techart ?

Will follow you thread closely.

Did you ever decided something for its color ?

I gotta say, I love the way the Cayman looks. This should turn out VERY nicely. I'm definately looking forward to more on this one.

Re: TechArt Cayman GT

It looks so COOL!

Black spoke wheels will fit for the car though which color you choose for the body.

Keep it up!!

Cool!
White with black wheels always looks great if you're taking votes?

How on earth can the seats be too small to fit?
