So I live in Indianapolis, and it has been pretty cold here, averaging -2 to 10 degrees. I bought my car in Arizona a year ago this month when I was living out there. Now that it is so cold, my car sometimes doesnt want to go into gear. Once it gets fully warmed up and after driving it for a few minutes, the problem goes away. Its real sluggish about shifting up and down. Now my check engine light comes on and the codes I got were P0700 and P1787. The weird thing is, my speedo works fine. Nothing else seems wrong with the car. I just checked the tranny fluid a few days ago and it was a bit low and topped it off. No help at all. Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong here? I just replaces the PCM under the emissions warranty on the car by the dealership. I dont think that would have anything to do with it though. Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks, CJ |

Re: P1787; 2-1 Downshift Error
possible a bad solenoid pack, the dealer would need to connect it to the trans simulator with the drb and checked. possible tcm, solenoid pack, wire, internal trans

Re: P1787; 2-1 Downshift Error
Given all the dust in AZ, you may have a clogged filter. Just have them perform a routine service and they'll look at all that.
