1996 Tahoe Noisy Lifter At Below 0 Temps? Engine Light? Help!

I have a 1996 Tahoe 5.7 L. All right, I posted earlier about a noisy lifter at start up. (Also starts rough with low idle) Well, recently it has been 20 below 0 with the windchill. That is when it started. Today at 5 above no noise. Yesterday below zero temps and my engine light comes on while towing. Also noticed my oil pressure is below what it usually is at a steady high speed. The light did go off once during this time but came back on after shutting it off at a gas station. This morning it was still cold out but not as bad. Engine light was still on but went off later in the morning and is still off. Oil pressure is better. Like I said it is 5 above today. Is there something with the cold weather that is making this happen? My friend has a 2003 Trailblazer and his was acting up also. Sorry for all the questions but I' am a new owner of a Tahoe. Thanks for any help!!

What weight oil are you using?

If you have an Autozone near you, they will read the codes for free.

Post back when you know the codes or weight of the oil you are using.

Re: 1996 Tahoe Noisy Lifter At Below 0 Temps? Engine Light? Help!

I don't know what weight oil is in it. I just got it 2 weeks ago from a dealership. Of cours AS-IS. It is in such great condition. Too bad for this issue! I have a good size oil leak too! Didn't start leaking until after a week! The oil leak is coming from above somewhere. I looked at the oil filter and drain plug and that looks good. It is leaking above the oil pan somewhere. Any seals that go bad I should be aware of? Oil lines maybe? I' am taking it in next Monday to get it looked at. Hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to fix this leak!!
