'97 Chevy K-1500 Reading "Service Engine" codes

I have a '97 Chevy K-1500 pickup with the 5.7 motor. I want to read what codes are in the ECM but can't remember what leads on the DLC to short for it to blink them on the "Service Engine".

Does anyone here remember which leads on the DLC for this vehicle will do that?

Thanks,

Bruce

The paper clip trick won't work on your truck Bruce. You need an OBDII scanner to read the codes. Check with your local part stores if you wish to purchase one. Autozone will read them for free and of course try to sell you their crappy parts.
