Re: HELP! 93 Lesabre tranny issue

If its smoking you need to smell the smoke .. it may be just water vapor normally in cold climates or sweet smelling which means you have coolant leaking and burning into the engine with a cracked head or manifold gasket.. very rare for this engine. Or Blue smoke.. which is oil and burning in the engine.. if the car hasnt been started for a while let it run and see if blue oil smoke clears quickly.

Trannie fluid never gets into the manifold.. you fill the trannie from away back behind the motor, someone would have to dump it into an open intake and have it dissasembled to do such.

There is a noted forum post to put 12v to a wire that may kludge what you have discribed.. The TCC line to the trannie electric transmission. He just wired it up according to the post.

BE SURE AND SEARCH the forums for trannie and transmission to get more ideas.

Trannies are at the junk yard and your model are often found good there $100-200 but then you have to put it in.

Did it not go over 25 from the trannie slipping or the engine not running?

The car is worth 200-400 as you discribe and there are no other suprises.

Good Luck
