01 Windstar: slide door won't unlock

01 Windstar

One of the slide doors will not unlock via the electric lock system. In fact, I can't seem to unlock it manually. The front passenger door lock acts up occaisionally too.

Any ideas?

With the slide door I had some problems too and in this forum were very much discussed. I suggest to you to do some search in this matter inside the forum. However, you can start by cleaning the contacts for the pins at the slide door....many times they get oxidized.

Good advise to start there anytime you have an issue with the automatic sliding doors, doesn't take much to make the door locks stop working, cause the doors to not close etc.

Had this problem too. Take the panels off, you will see the actuator with a kidney shaped whole it moves through, You will find that it isn't all the way, where it can allow it to unlock. If I remember, I had to loosen a bolt to move it to the proper position.
