Exclamation oil?

my car stopped working today... it was overheating before but i put antifreeze in it and now today it started to overheat again then it turned its self off (like it would if it got too hot) but when i checked the oil it looks like brown light brown not see though at all. is this a bad thing? if so what does it mean? the car is a 95 buick skylark with the 3.2?? V6. any help would be awesome its my beater and i now found out i kinda need it. thank you all

Re: oil?

somthing could be wrong with your cooling system and could be a list of things as for my guess if it isnt major it could be the cooling fan or a leak of some sort in the radiator system? but i could be wrong just making suggestions.

Re: oil?

sounds like you've got coolant in the oil. Usually due to the intake manifold leaking.

Don't drive it another mile until you fix it. Coolant in the oil is the worse thing you can do to an engine, as far as destroying it (assuming its not already badly damaged)

Re: oil?

ok, well i think it may be the worse then because i have been refilling the coolent for a few months now. i have had to put more in about every 3 weeks. oh yeah i tried to start the car again today and see if it would even try and it sounds like my starter clicks (like its dead) but dose nothing there was nothing wrong with the starter before so could the engine be frozen because of the coolent?

Re: oil?

might not be completely destroyed, but you definitely didn't help it.

Question is, is it worth attempting to replace the intake gasket, only to find it has a cracked head, blown head gasket, spun bearing or any other number of problems due to ignore the problem up to now?

Re: oil?

if its a intake gasket i wouldn't mind replacing it. but more than that i dont think i would do it. the question now would be is there a way to see if the intake gasket would fix it?
