Froxen rear caliper pins

When I changed my rear brake pads, I noticed one pad only was wearing on the left side. The caliper pins that allow the caliper to float around the rotor are frozen into the caliper housing. I could not easly remove them and a new caliper is expensive. Any ideas or tricks to remove them? I tried heat. My next step is to drill them out, but I don't know if there is a sleeve in there or is just a bored hole?
Thanks

Re: Froxen rear caliper pins

Heat and beat brother... Try heating the material around the pin, not the pin itself, grab the pin w/ some vise grips while it's good and hot, twist back and forth while hitting it w/ a hammer - it'll come out, if not - get it hotter and keep hitting it.

Re: Froxen rear caliper pins

And when you do get it apart, you should replace the pins and the rubber seals since they obviously are not working together to keep moisture and the elements out. Install the new parts, lube them up with synthetic brake grease, and put it all back together. You should clean and re-lube the other calipers too before they end up in the same situation.
