My Latest Project...16 litres and 20" Wheels?? (Progress Pics) **NEW PICS**

Yep here it is a 16 litre, 6 cylinder, turbo-charged monster running on 20" wheels...
A Volvo FH-16 lorry kit by Italeri!!
Decided to build this as 'something different' from all the usual cars, hope you like the pics so far!!

Engine Detail...

View from behind...

In these next pics I have put in a Mazda Efini RX-7 bodyshell to give you an idea just how big this model is...

And finally...

Feel free to let me know what you think so far...

Thanks guys...
It meaures just over 42cms in length, so yeah it's huge!!
Colour wise I haven't decided just yet, it's actually a refridgerated box lorry but I'm thinking about cutting that down and converting it into a car transporter/breakdown truck and yes it's 1/24th scale so it should look alright with the other Tamiya kits!!
$95!! that's Aus$ I take it? This kit was in my local shop and had been reduced down from £29.99 to £24.99, not sure what that is in Aus$, he also had an Italeri Subaru wrc Team truck which is an articulated (I think you guys call them semi's?) but you also get the Impreza Rally car in the box but it was £49.99 so I had to give it a miss.

You are the first to have a truck on here...hopefully the last too :finger: :finger: ...j/k

Looking good mate....i've always waited to do a truck but with the amount of room they take up i keep putting it off.

Yeah I think you should cut the back down for a car transporter...Paint it black and make it low as hell, that would look mad...A transporter truck thats more evil then the car its carrying! Yeah, it is around $95 AUSD just for the cab part of the truck! No trailer, they are seperate, but its $95 for an actual semi trailer not a half truck like this one....Well, wheres more pics Fatboyslim? I think I will give my next 5-6 kits after my next load a skip and do a huge truck project....fill the whole thing with LEDs!It'll have to be a Volvo truck though...

TRUCK OFF!!
:finger: :finger: :finger: :finger:
Ha-HA-Ha!!

Lowriders...I had thought about putting some LED lights on it and possibly a flashing amber roof bar! Just need to find somewhere that sells LED's now. More pics? Bloody impatient aren't we? I haven't been to work since posting those pics so I haven't built any more of it yet, but starting tonight I'm on 2 night shifts so check back Friday and I'll stick some more up!!

How about having it parked outside a greasy spoon cafe, it will make a very realistic diorama! You could also include a few used 1litre coffe cups in the cab!!!

Ok for all you silly truckers out there here are some more pics...

Box Art picture...

Here is a wheel painted with Tamiya X-11 chrome silver which I think looks very much like a brushed aluminium truck wheel, the trim I covered with chocolate wrapper (I get loads of free chocolate as I have a... errm... lets say 'Lady friend' who is the manageress of my local Thorntons...

I'm in the process of primering the cab sections but as I now have 3 days off work it'll be Monday night till I do anything else on the kit, so sorry you'll all just have to wait!

**NEW PICS**

Finally managed to get more of the Lorry done!!
Here as promised sre the NEW pics...

I also put lights in this kit I was going to use Led's as they look have the
bluish colour of xenon hid-lamps but when I found out they were going to be £4 EACH!!(6US$) I shelved that idea and got some very small bulbs and I'm happy with the result...

And in darkness...

Now all I have to do is the rear car-carrying part and the flashimg roof bar!!
Let me know what you think so far...
