02 EGR Valve

I'm kind of new at this but I have a 02 Tacoma and the engine light is on. The service guy said my EGR valve has insuffient flow and needs replaced. Does any one know what the metrics on this valve would be?

What was done to diagnose the problem other than just pulling the code?

Advance hooked it up to their computer and that was their analysis.
