01 Check Engine Light On

3/4 way home my engine light came on. Checked the infamous gas cap, it's on pretty tightly. The thing runs like butter, sounds great. THink it might be the oxygen sensor since I hit speed bump way too fast the other day. Could someone point me in the direction of the oxygen sensor?? I'd really appreciate and thanks in advance.

First thing, there are (4) 02 sensors on your blazer. Second thing is you need to take the truck to any Auto Zone and have the check engine code's read. They will do it for free. Write down in order from first to last any and all code's and post them back here in order for anyone to really help you...

Re: 01 Check Engine Light On

Alrighty, I went to Auto-Zone and here's what they came up with: P0410 - The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the secondary air injection system. That is the only code that came up. It came up 2x. I hope this info is enough for some help. Once again, I appreciate all the advice in advance.

Re: 01 Check Engine Light On

Thanks for the link, I have found it helpful. My boyfriend and I changed the 30 amp fuse last night but the service engine light is still on. We are going to do further investigating. From what I've heard, the P0410 code must be manually reset by the dealer. It does not automatically go away -- anyone know whether this is true of GM vehicles??? Many thanks!

Re: 01 Check Engine Light On

was the fuse blown? if it wasn't, just replacing it w a new one solves nothing unless there was some corrosion on the fuse contacts. how about the 10 amp fuse mentioned in the link? if the either fuse was blown and now replaced with a good one, re-ckeck the fuses to see if they have blown again. if they are still good go to auto zone and have them clear the code with the scanner. if the fuses are blown again you have a bigger problem. fuses do not blow unless there is a higher current draw through the fuse than its rating.

Re: 01 Check Engine Light On

The 30 amp fuse was blown, and very definitely. We replaced it and I took it to the dealer and they cleared the code for free. The hitch is, the guy helping me said you're lucky if it's just the fuse, but in my experience the light will come on again. So, I'm still thinking there needs to be some detective work to really clear this up. THanks for your post.
