strut mount question

I had to get a new strut mount installed. It now "creaks" when I turn. The shop said it will do that until the bearings break in. Does this sound right? They said to bring back in a couple of days if it hasn't stopped and they will check it. I'm just a little leary of news parts that need a "breaking in period". Thank you. Chris

Re: strut mount question

I can attest to creaking noises being related to the strut mounts.

When I put the KYB's on my GTP it made the same creaking noise.
It did it until I put new axles in. Now it doesn't do it anymore.

Sounds stupid but that's how it went.

Re: strut mount question

Thanks everyone! I'm going to take it back and see if they can get the noise to go away so I can trade the sucker in. I'm not replacing anything else on this car....spend almost $4K since August. Going car shopping this weekend. I've never seen a car fall completely apart in such a short period of time. I'm going to the shop for something every other week...or every other day. lol It's so frustrating!

Re: strut mount question

Brake in my foot. They don't make creak noises when they're new from the factory!
