93 vic
my 93 LX literally rumbles into 3rd and 4th gear (4th is a little worse)
the local car tech told me it needs a complete rebuild, and to ride it out for a while, could last a year or more before it totally shits out. Trans expert gave me a $1500-$1800 est. the car just turned 37,000 mi. has this happened to other vics or i am just lucky? any simple fix? i figured a flush would be throwing money away in this case |

Re: 93 vic
If it just does it at shift points, sorta like running over little rumble strips at shift points, have the torque converter drained, flush the trans fluid and add clean fluid. We have a fleet of over 600 CV's and this is a common problem with them. All the fluid needs to be removed or exchanged, including the transmission cooler. We use a transmission flush to clean the cooler before we add new fluid into the vehicle.

Re: 93 vic
Just a quick observation. How was this car used if only 37,000 miles on the odom in 10 years? Was there a major rebuild in its past where they reset the odom or did it flip?
How many miles on the current trans? Chow. |
