oil line leaking at engine block..

theres is 2 bolts that go into the engine block,havent tried to tighten them yet, the line itself is in good condition, looks like its leaking at the housing thingy thats bolted to the block. is this sealed with a gasket or o-ring? anyone know? i have a oil cooler line gasket set with 2 gaskets and like 6 o-rings, not sure if this is what i will need to fix it, anyone done this before on there 4wd ? its 4.3L engine z, 1988 s-10 blazer

If older ones same - GM adapter in 98up there is an O ring and gasket under it that can leak. 98up is GM#88893989 and under $5.00 at dealer -older models may be the same so post back after your fix.

wow, i loosed the bolts to the adapter beside the oil pan but how the heck you remove or unhook the line itself, impossible to turn the bolt holding the line to the adapter there just isnt enough room, can get a wrech on it but no room to turn it, also removed the torque converter shield, what else i need to do guys?

You need to lightly put on the adapter again. I use a variety of extensions, and a universal joint to get to the bolt from the front of the truck, with the front engine shield removed. the bolt is right in the middle of the lines. After you get this bolt loose, then unbolt it from the block itself. I've done it this way many times, its a little tricky, but it works.

finially got the sucker back on ,no leaks. what i did find out is you need to take the whoile line and adapter out and clean around the fittings really good, there was a hard oil film that droed to the outside of the fittings by adapter, even out of the truck the line was difficult to push in place because of this, thats why i couldnt get it back first time, took razor and scraped off to the metal around the fitiings done the trick, thnx for your help guys !
