Saturn04 won't always start

Someone please help me i have no idea what is wrong with my car. Lately my saturn 2004 with a 2.2L isn't always starting its kinda like a hit or miss type of thing. It exspecially does't want to start in the morning when i need to go to work. Or if it sits outside for periods of time. I just got a new battery and had it tested along with the altenator and there both fine. So what can it be?? Im thinking my starter but don't want to spend a lot of money if i don't need to .

It's the ignition switch. e replace a lot of them, as soon as the weather get cold.

Re: Saturn04 won't always start

Had the same problem with my 04. Stopped at the store for 5 minutes, car wouldn't start. was pouring rain so figured it was just wet. Waited for an hour for CAA to come. Buddy jumped in and it started right up for him. Dealer replaced the ignition relay switch. Has been fine since.

Re: Saturn04 won't always start

I just started to have similar problems with my Ion2 (2003).

I drove the car home (approx. 6 miles), turned the car off, five minutes later it didn't want to start.

On the dash, it said, "Service Engine".

I went to the local auto parts store and purchased an OBD reader. When I came back home, (approx. 20-30 mins. later), the car started right up.

The OBD reader was not showing any codes.

Should I look into the ignition relay or the ignition switch?

Re: Saturn04 won't always start

I had the same problem and i fixed it but not the correct way. it's the Pass Lock security system in the car it thinks that someone is stealing it so it shuts down the ignition.
There is a video on youtube that shoes how to fix the problem, Like i said it's not the correct way but it has worked for me and have had no problems the whole winter and last summer..

Just make sure the car is started if you use this other wise it will not work at all.
