95 Transmission Problems 4x4 Tahoe

Hi
I have a 1995 Tahoe 4x4 with a 350 and 200k. My problem is the transmission, it has 70k on it after being rebuilt at 130k , it is not shifting out of 2nd gear and there is no reverse, it has been driving and running normal up until yesterday when my wife took the kids to school. She came home and said it wasnt running right. I was wondering if my ECM (engine control module) or a similiar computer chip could of went out, maybe a vacuum line? Any help on this is very much appreciated. Thank You Jason

Re: 95 Transmission Problems 4x4 Tahoe

No vacuum lines on a 4L60E. There are known issues with the ignition switch which causes low voltage to reach the transmission. But I don't recall loosing reverse in that case.

Usually no reverse and shifting issues mean a broken sun shell (unfortunately common on this tranny). See http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...oken+sun+shell

It's the sunshell! Had my transmission replaced with a factory gm rebuilt unit. Problems are now gone!
