my truck is a 99 dakota and my BF went to wind down the window in the fridig cold and it broke. The handle keeps turning but now window wont go down or up. Id like to fix it myself. Ive never taken off the door panel but i see its just removing the screws. Doesnt the handle unscrew too so i can remove the door panel? Is that all there is to remove the door panel? once i see whats up inside i can replace it or fix it.
any helpful feedback?? thanks for your time nancy/PA |

Re: hand cranked window open and it broke
Some window cranks are attached with screws, others are attachedwith u-shaped spring clips requiring a special tool to remove. The tool is not expensive and available at most autoparts stores.
