Need to bypass neutral safety

I have a 1994 plymoth voyager 3.3L v6 automatic. I need to bypass the neutral safety switch. Do I do this at the switch itself or must I also get into the steering column?
Thank you very much

Re: Need to bypass neutral safety

If you're doing this as a temporary step in troubleshooting then bypass the switch at the switch. If you're making this a permanent fix, don't. If someone happens to jump in the van and start it in drive or reverse, it could jump forward or back and hit whatever is in it's path. Whatever is in it's path...

Exclamation Re: Need to bypass neutral safety

Just go out and buy a new Neutral safety switch. It's $10 at Autozone, in stock. I'd give you the part number, but they are different for 4 speed and 3 speed transmissions. It's also really easy to replace give basic mechanic skills.
