i know someone on escortracing.com who has a Mercury Tracer LTS and did a V6 Conversion...ill get more details on it...but if u are lookin for more power you could get the J-Spec GTX or GTR engine from corksport.com GTX is Apx 180HP Turbo'd and is a direct fit for the most part!

Re: Engine Swap

Check out this link: www.cardomain.com/memberpage/609962/1

It's a '95 Escort GT with a Mazda 2.5L V6 (found in gen2 Probes) swapped in place of the original 1.8L motor.

Um, isn't that a 1.8L V6? Not terribly highly rated HP for a V6 (130 I think) compared to what you get from the current 1.8L 4cyl.
now if you could stuff the mazda-made 3.0 V6 in there, that would be sweet.

Re: Engine Swap

Too bad that stuffing a Turbo Mazda RX-7 motor in isn't too feasible.
A 300hp Escort would sure RIP

any thing is possable with $$$.
I know its not a V6 but I have a 94 GT with the Ford SVT crate engine in it. It gos really well.

Re: Engine Swap

Has anyone tried droping in a Torous SHO (Super High Output) motor into an Escort?

I understand that 1 company droped some into some old Festivia's. It apparently went like a rocket
