Problem with speakers

I have a 95 PA with the Concert sound II and the passenger side front two speakers are not working. So far I have tried another used set of speakers and another head unit and either speaker will still not work. Is there a seperate amplifier somewhere on these cars that might be the culprit? Thanks

There's a separate amp with the Bose system. The standard concert sound II system (5 1/4 mid and tweeter) runs straight from the radio. Sounds like your wiring may be bad. Did you try different speaker wires?

Re: Problem with speakers

Yeah, thats what I am thinking. I'm going to do some diagnosing on the wires going from the radio to the speakers. Is there any way of testing speaker voltage with a voltmeter?

Re: Problem with speakers

Testing the voltage... not really..
You can test speakers somewhat.. On a DVOM meter at ohms the ohm/voltmeter puts out a small voltage and you would hear it crackle a bit. Thats if you dont have a active Bose speaker that requires power to run. And the battery is good in the DVOM.

Good Luck.
