A/C clutch
I have a 2000 Bonneville that has a screaching sound coming from under the hood. I've narrowed it down to the A/C compressor. I've taken the belt off and it's much harder to turn the A/C pully than I think it should be. The noise is the same with the A/C on or off. So, I'm thinking that it's just the clutch that needs replacing. Does anyone know how to remove and replace just the clutch?

Re: A/C clutch
It doesn't sound like the clutch is bad, but the bearing supporting the pulley has gone bad. You'll need to remove the clutch anyway to get at the bearing assembly. Go to http://www.ackits.com/, they will have the parts and the expertise you need.
Good Luck!
