Angry 98 Grd AM SE key stuck and no power

I went out to start my car this morning, put my key in the ignition and turned it in the "on" position, all my lights came on, fuel pump came on etc....then I tried to turn over the engine and all of a sudden, all power just suddenly quit AND my keys are stuck between the 1st 2 clicks of the ignition switch (they will not come out).

This happened once before and while I was trying to figure out what I could do, I opened the door and everything just powered up (seemingly randomly....)

I checked all my fuses etc; any help would be appreciated, THANKS

Re: 98 Grd AM SE key stuck and no power

You need a new ignition switch!

Also make sure the car is in Park,
try moving the shifter around and see if it'll let the key turn.

You'll probly have to take it apart with the key stuck.
Then after the ignition switch is removed you can probly get the key out.

You can force it to move, but this will most def. break the ignition switch.

What is going on I can not belive so many people are having problems with that switch my is still ok, but now I am considering to take that thing out and instal nice iluminated type of switch for my igniiton on and hidden press button for starter or does not have to be hidden it will look much better like a Viper this could eliminate possible unexpected problems.
