Cost of tinting/legality

Anyone give me about how much it cost to get widnows tinted? Mine are slightly tinted, and i noticed some of the tint got scratched off somehow, and it looks like crap. I thought it might be cool to just get it redone darker, but how dark can i go? And do i just do the 4 side windows, or the back windsheild too?

Check with local law enforcement on how dark the tints can go. Different states have different restrictions.

Check your local laws... How much does it cost well it depends where you live at and how many shops tint windows. The more shops the cheaper the price will be the less the more you have to pay. Here in cali it runs between 75-150 thats for all the windows. Many people like myself has illegal tint in the front also tint the front windshield visor for 100 bucks.

YUP. Around here they make you peel off the front two windows on the spot sometimes. I have seen more than one motorist on the side of the road with a razor...

They can't make you take it off unless they have one of them devices that measures the tint. Even if it's limo tint they can't just judge what tint you have. A cop told me about that, so it's a pretty accurate source.

It depends where a person lives. Here in cali a person can not even tint the front windows at all. If a cop see it thats automatic ticket from him/her. People like myself drive for years with tint on the front and the police never say anything, Onething you can do when you see police near you row down windows.

my car has dark(limo tint) all away around but in the front i have medium tint i think thats 50%. The higher the number the lighter the tint. I seen people with limo tint in the front thats a no no cops will bust u on the spot. For me, during the day time i noticed just a little difference of shade of tint but in night time the shade of color evens out.

I have 35% platinum tint all the way around, but I just got a ticket for the front ones because he measured em and it said 30. In NY you have to have at least 70% on the front windows, but they don't even make tint that light. I doubt they'd ever give you a ticket for 50 here, and rarely for 35 unless feel like being an asshole. I know people that have 20% on the front windows and have never even been asked about the tint.

Cops can never make you rip off the tint right there, but if you do they won't give you a ticket. I guess I'm gonna just pay the fine because it'll cost me more to re-tint the windows.

I wonder if the dealership will do a tint for me. I have an insurance check for $250 to me and the dealership, and part of it is for damage to my tint. Anyone know if i dont use the entire $250 if i get the change? heh.

How much of a difference in reduced visability does tinting make. I was thinking like 35%, maybe 50% (all around) to be legal in MN. What about at night and with poor weather (rain and snow here)?

Thanx

To tell you the truth i do not have any problems with seeing objects outside while driving. I have limo tint in the back and i have 50% medium tint driver and passenger side window. The problems police have with people with tint s that they cant see the person driving and when they pull them over they want to make sure that the driver do not have any weapons.

In CA the law is any degree of darkness on the rear side windows and the rear windshield, and it can't be lower than 70% on the front windshield and side windows. I have limo tint (5%) on my rear ones, and none on the other ones.

Also mine cost me $160 plus $80 to remove the old factory tint. Don't try to remove it yourself. Spend the extra cash. You can tear off your defrost lines, which will make them not work.
