What is you favourite type of music?


To make myself clear, I am not anti-genre, because I like rap, rock, pop, dance, soul, regge, and pretty much dont have a problem with other genres.

Lets not fight about genres, like is rap or rock better, just post a fair comment and answer the poll and lets see what the majority of you people like.


Note - Your name is kept private, so i wont say who voted what (for arguement reasons)

I don't think the way the polls are set up on this site, you are able to double vote, unless you have more than one user account, which I believe the admin frowns upon.
It would have been easier to be able to vote for more than one choice however, because I really don't have a favorite genre per se. I listen to most music from the early '60s until now including rock, country, heavy metal/hair metal. oldies, disco, pop, Top 40. etc. People hate driving with me in the car because I'm constantly changing the radio stations jumping from song to song- kind of like ADHD for music
My mp3 player can attest to that with such artists as Led Zeppelin, Tone Loc, Brooks and Dunn,Huey Lewis and the News, Young M C , Heart,Bee Gees,Mamas and the Papas,Warrant, BEP,Orgy,Velvet Revolver, The Temptations and on and on...

I havent ever made a poll yet, and I hope that feature isnt breaking the admins rules. I respect rules, but i saw the feature and choose it, becasue i like rap, rock, classic rock, pop and lots of genres, so i can check them all, instead of 1.

And for blackscorpion, im sorry i didn't but metal, but i tried to keep the poll simple, and i think metal is a branch or rock.

If metal is a branch of rock, and thus is the reason for leaving it out of your list, explain classic rock. afterall, its rock, just older. Same with reggae, that can be classed with hip hop, as both have roots in Jamaica.

btw, if everything were to be on that list, i'd choose:

Melodic Death Metal (In Flames)
Experimental Metal (Pelican, Isis)
Progressive Metal (Opeth, Wintersun)
Technical Metal (Mastadon)
Funk Metal (Primus)
Progressive Rock, new wave (Tool, Rage Against the Machine)
Progressive Rock, old school (Gentle Giant, Pink Floyd, King Crimson)
SoCal/Funk Rock (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime)

What pac4life told me through a private message is he ment that, you cant go listing all the genres of rock... The poll only has 15 choices max, and if i put all of those, what more is there to add. Only 3 more genres. I can list all of the hip hop and rap

I dont want to fight, or even raise my voice (figurative) for this. Man this is a car forum, this is all for fun.

All this was supposed to be is a place where I can see what are the most favourable genres. I dont wat be be on anyones bad list, especially the admins (i respect them with all of my heart) and i did not want to see a simple poll turn into an arguement.
