I still don't get what you mean

You want to install double din Kenwood in, so you have all features you like, is it right ? so, you have to take stock radio out and Chevy build in all LAN INFO in stock radio, so you don't have any info about milage, oil life, etc.

don't worry about bad thing happen

this is my points

- From 2004 model, Chevy use LAN INFO called DIC Center build-in the stock radio showing info about your car such as outside temp, milage, trip counter, etc.

If you really want to install double din Kenwood, you have to loose all LAN INFO

If you still want LAN INFO, you have to choose a single din and have a this kit Scosche-Gm1593b to have you DIC functions

I bought this kit and a single din Kenwood but not install yet because I like the MP3, I am tired to change disks with the stock radio

1. You have to find some way to take the stock radio, I think, not too hard
download this instruction

http://www.metraonline.com/downloads...NST99-3303.pdf

2. Put your own unit back BUT you need a HARNESS for your double din unit

Re: 2004 malibu audio

Just to clear up any possible misunderstandings, DIC is an acronym for Driver Information Centre

Buy it from Crutchfield and you'll get instructions. Personally, I opted for the Metra unit so I could keep the DIC info.
