A/C Odor
I have a new one! 2001 Impala. My temp gauge would register zero and my a/c would stop working. Had GM to repair. They told me it was a bad thermostat...OK. Since the thermostat has been replaced, when I turn my A/C on a very strong odor is emitted from the A/C vents. The odor at first smelled like vinegar, but after a couple of weeks smells more like raw fresh silicon.
Took it back to the dealer. They have no idea who, what, where or how??? Can anyone suggest a cure? Loan-man |

Re: A/C Odor
your A/C evaporator core is shot and leaking R-134a into the passenger compartment.

Thanks for the quick response. I did not know that 134 had an odor. I will check for the leak.
