1996 88 question/need some help please

I recently bought a 1996 88 with the standard 3800 series II engine, the car only had 90K and looks great. When I bought it I started it and everythnig seems OK (some very minor ticking noise from engine but no big deal). Anyway, I left the car and didn't start it for at least five weeks, when I did start it, the car sounded like it threw a rod. I had no chose but to drive it home approx. 5 miles and then shut it off. The noise didn't get any worst and didn't get any better ether. So I pulled the valve covers and started it and noticed that there is no oil flowing to the top of the engine.
The next thing was to pull the oil adapter and I found that the oil relief valve was frozen and would not move, so I pulled the entire timing chain cover. I found some slack in the timing gears so I replaced them, I also inspected the oil pump assy and packed it full of vaseline. Right now I am in the process of finishing the reassembly process and then I will be starting the car and see if the problem goes away. The question I have is after reading this, is there something else I should be looking at before I try to start the car again. Thanks in advance for any info.......Phil

I'd pull the pan and check the bearings and try to find out what caused the original problem, which is unusual in this engine.
