Exclamation 2000 Eclipse GS window Stuck

Just recently my right window in my mitsubishi eclipse gs 2000 broke. It will go down no problem but when i try to make it go up it wont. My friend said it would take around $300 to fix and I wasn't expecting that for such a minor problem. Anyways, does anyone know how hard it is to fix this yourself or know what the problem could be?

Thanks

Re: 2000 Eclipse GS window Stuck

Sounds like the motor is shot (my passenger side went out in my 2000 GT). I was able to find a used one on ebay for about 40 bucks and it works just fine. Not sure what a new one costs, but I do know if you have the auto down on the driver side, that side is more $$ than the passenger. As for the install, it's not hard, but it's not real easy. It isnt complicated, it just helps to have small hands, and 2 people. You have to take the window out, and if you have tinted windows make sure you are very careful when you take it out and put it back in because the inside of the door is kinda sharp and will scrape up the tint (trust me because my tint looks like ass now because I did it by myself and was not aware it would get muffed up like that). Also, the screws that hole the window on the opener are a pain in the ass to get to. Not so much to take off, but when you go to tighten them, they are really really hard to get tight because one side is a nut, and the other side is flat (no nut, not screw driver, just a flat head so there is nothing hold on to and after you get the nut on the other side kinda tight, the screw just spins). Not sure if there is a trick to getting it tight, but you also dont wanna go too tight because it might crack the glass. I would say DIY, but have 2 people and make sure its warm out because it might take you a while and you cant be wearing gloves because there is a lot of greese and tight spaces. Check ebay for a motor (make sure it's the correct side) or else check the internet for the best price. It shouldnt be 300 though.
