Re: Looking for an Instructional Racing DVD

go do a training course where you actually drive a car instead of watching other people drive them.

Re: Looking for an Instructional Racing DVD

I agree, you can not learn how to be a good driver by watching someone on your couch. If, that was the case I would be racing motox along with Ricky Charmichael and James Stewart as I watch them all the time. The only way to get good is to get some hands on experience.

Thanks guys for the complete useless post.

Your post would have been usefull if I said,

"Im looking to become a race car driver does anyone know of any good instructional DVD's?"

All I wanted was any info regarding instructional racing DVD's that's all. Not a lecture.

I guess I'm in the wrong place. I don't post here as often or you guys wouldn't have ever replied like that to me. lol

Re: Looking for an Instructional Racing DVD

Man you guys...honestly, Google and amazon...the problem here is that not many of you road race right?

Let me try here, That skip barber DVD is worth it. Other than that, Going Faster the book has a lot more information and I was recently told about a book called Speed Secrets 2.

If you want virtual seat time, or you can't really race for some physical or financial reason, I reccommend GTR2 and rFactor, both PC simulations designed to be the most realistic any sim can be, and between the 2 of them, the most different race series to offer. Now it depends what kind of racing you're interested in.

As I've always said, "If Google is my friend, apparently you're not". my 2cents

See actually I already have my National Competition License to road race. Been hitting up the track for 2 years now. I just wanted to see if anyone else had any other DVDs in mind pertaining to an Instructional DVD for my young aspiring nephew. He's at the point of beginning session's in Sebring this summer. I wanted to get him to soak in as much information before getting under the strap since I'm in a different state and not physically able to help him out.
A couple of friends I know suggested the Go Faster DVD so it's already on order.

Ha, everyone around this section knows me and could vouch that I don't make stupid posts like that. I stand by my previous comment. And I would be willing to wager there are quite a few people in agreement with me.

No need to take it personal. Yes your reply was 100% true but your post along with the other had nothing to do with my question.

Thanks for the help, I found that SCCAForums.com had some good listings.

why don't you try not being an asshole?

you want the truth, here it is. you can't become a good racing driver by watching a dvd, it can't do that. it can show you lines, it can show other drivers but it won't make you become a good racing driver.

i reccomended a course because you get in a car with someone who knows what they're talking about, and they teach you. they show you what you're doing wrong and they help you improve. a dvd can't do that.

so next time i say something like i did, maybe you should actually think about what i'm saying without being cocky. because if you keep talking to people like that, i'll get rid of you.

And why must you tell me this seriously. Why?

I don't think my question asked for an opinion.

I don't know why your taking this so personal with absurd name calling, it's not a big deal.
