2001 DeVille Multiple Misfires Solved! Now New Problem!

Caddy Daddy and others:
Code 300 Multiple Random Misfires traced to a bad front (?) spark coil. Car runs perfectly now. However there is a new problem.
When I was setting the parking brake last night, it suddenly went to the floor! I assume the cable broke.
Could anyone tell me whether this is something that a good station could fix? Most won't touch certain things on this car, like plugs.
Also, this is a brake that automatically releases when the car is put into reverse. I was wondering if that would complicate the repair process or make it more expensive.
Thanks to CD for your previous help! Future help much appreciated!
Frank

Yes, that sounds like a cable that snapped! The regular service brakes work fine, right? I don't see why a good shop wouldn't be able to fix the cable. The automatic release is just a vacuum operated mechanism that does the same as pulling a release handle. So if that is working ok, then the shop doesn't have to worry about that, and just fix the cable.

Good luck!
