Please comment. I have several projects goin on right now. But I think the bling shinny star things I added look terrible. My friend thinks they look ggod what do you think. Plus I always screw up the chevy bowtie, so I didnt draw it on there. and the side windows i noticed were a lil off. I guess I just used the ref 4 a headlight grill refference. n e ways tell me what u think. thnx

Re: Lowrider Truck W.I.P.

dont you ever do those stars again. they really look horrible. if you want to highlight in that way, use photoshop and airbrush very gently. perspective is ok but you should have chosen other colors. green is a mostly bad choice because it tends to look artificial and in this case the light green doesnt really match with the saturated green. Also try to cut those lines at the bottom away and clean up the white background. leave that dirt out for your sketch will look more graphic and alive without lacking of realism. The rims are pretty good as all of your chrome parts are. the headlights could be drawn sharper. think they need a little more kontrast. dont outline your reflections. try to achieve plasticity throughout the wisely use of color. no thick lines! keep on working.

Re: Lowrider Truck W.I.P.

looks good..yeah don't use the stars..the truck is also a stepside and your drawing doesn't have one...it's fleetside..unless you wanted it that way

Re: Lowrider Truck W.I.P.

Girlbear.. nice.. I would only suggest that if you want the star flashes, do so without the black outline... and soften them up a bit - even reduce the size a bit. It's the outline that stand out and diminishes a cool truck. Robo

Re: Lowrider Truck W.I.P.

Cool truck and I agree with Robo on the highlights--drop
the outline and then soften white fill edges.

Looking foward to the next version of this one.

Re: Lowrider Truck W.I.P.

since you have a multimedia look and feel...use multi medias.

Try using a brush and some guache for your bling.

On the bowtie thing try doing a large version of it then reduce it on a color copier. Then xacto knife it out and glue it into place.

The truck looks good.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We are all our own worst critics, but we need to remember to give ourselves a little breathing room. There are more than enough people out there that will beat up your artwork for you. As artists our final pieces are not a measure of how good or bad we did. Our growth artistically is defined between the lines. The final piece is just the beginning of your next...it doesn't mean that much. I personally haven't done a drawing I've "liked" in about 15 years, however I grow in some way, piece by piece.

You're one of my favs...do more.
