2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer

I have a problem.The engine turns but won't catch.Everything else seem to be working fine.But no matter how much i turn the key,it just shudders a bit like it wants to start but it won't.....any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

Do you have a way to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail (fuel pressure gauge) or for spark? Which engine does your Explorer have? Also, have you checked the battery voltage during the cranking?

To really narrow the likely causes down much, we'll need some of the above information.

Thanks for the help,but it was just the IAC valve that was clogged up.I hit it with some WD 40 and problem solved.I hear it's a very common problem in explorers.It's a huge weight off my shoulders,and somehting i could do myself without some mechanic ripping me off.Thank god...and thank you for responding.
