What is a good motor to get started in the import stage?

im looking for a good motor that i can get started in the import stage i usially build motors for fords or chevys and now im looking to get in the import area of and need to know what motor is good for the price and the power and also the avaliablity of parts in the US :alien2: just wondering what people thought of what would be a good starter engine for building a nice car up with.. any car it dosent matter.. i usially start with the engine and then buy the car after that is built so i dont have any hassle with the engine and i can buy the car for the engine and not the engine for the car... i need to know some good places to buy blocks and intakes and headers and heads and all that good stuff!! just starting out in the imports and need to know the biz before i screw it up! heh!

depends on the car really, alot of honda engines will fit on most older Honda models..........if u're looking for something faster, try a light hatch civic with a b18c5 or a b20 ..... u can also throw in some super or turbo, etc.....but it really depends on ur price range since there are so much aftermarket support.......used engines from japan are fairly easy to get........ just look in this forum, ebay, or any import shop will carry them

i think b18c5 goes for an avg of 1G (can prob get it cheaper deal)

also try www.honda-tech.com (a bunch of jdm whores) but they're fairly good........if u dont mind the bitching and flaming

depends on what you want, a strong base is a b16a, or a b18c the b18c would be better for going all motor, the b16 too but it just comes with 20 less horsepower but can be tuned better and easier. B16's would also work really good with a turbo or supercharger.
