94 dodge intrepid strange issues

A friend of mine has a 94 dodge intrepid that when she pulls up to a stop sign the car shimmys and dies. And it has a hard time shifting into second gear.

I was wondering if that car had a tranny converter lock? Do they???

I know on some cavilers you could just unplug the converter lock and the car was fine.
any information would be great. She just had this tranny put in about 3 months ago, (57xxx miles) But it was sitting in a junk yard for about 5 years is what the mechanic said that put the new one in for her.

They have a TCC but it is different control setup from a cavalier.
4 speed OD right?
Any transmission codes set.
Check it with a transmission /body computer capable scanner?
And post back codes.

What kind of transmission fluid put in it?
