Re: digital odometer turned off and rpm isnt working either

I have a 1997 convertible and it has the same problem except it is intermitant. When I first start the car the neon tube display for the odometer and the rpm gauge do not function then after a random period of time they will start to work. If I drive the car several times during the day the time till the gauge and the odometer start to work is shorter and if I turn the car off and on enough times during the day the gauge will work from the get go.

this is common for this car. a solder joint on the instrument circuit board overheats and cracks. it takes a little time but it is repairable at home.
