i've got a 90 model towncar with a 5.0 engine and this past saturday the car would not crank. i checked the fuses under the hood and i found that the fuel pump fuel was blown. replaced the fuse(same amperage) got in to turn the switch and the same fuse blew again. Can anyone help me out????????

Hello,
The TC does have a fuel pump relay. It is usually located under the hood. I could point it right out to you under the hood of an '89, but the 90 is different. These can go bad--and yes maybe it would blow a fuse as well. It certainly would be worth checking that before assuming the pump is bad. If you get no other help here, try Lincolnsonline site also. Usually a pump will just quit without blowing a fuse--seems unlikely that it would be that. |
