Exclamation Exhaust cutout problem. Advise needed?

I have an 06 ss silverado, i have some 3" exhaust cutouts that i want to put in, but want to move my cats to the rear closer to the muffler so when i open the cutouts it runs like a real open pipe. now my issue and question is if i move my cats when i open my cutouts wil the truck lose power due to no back pressure??? If anyone really knows please let me know. had some good advise already but i need more.

Probably not enough for you to notice. You would notice more of a power loss from your rear 02s not reading properly and throwing the computer off and an ses(unless you have the rear 02s taken care of, either by tune or with simulators, but hardly any loss due to backpressure itself.

I run my open cutouts a good bit and I don't have cats. I run the same times at the track both open and closed, maybe a tenth or so faster with them open

Re: Exhaust cutout problem. Advise needed?

you're wasting your time with exhaust cut-outs on a stock engine....

Don't believe you'll gain anything expect maybe some noise.

the converters are designed to be fairly close to the manifolds.... I would not move them...
