WIP - Customer's 1969 Camaro SS350 Convertible

Pretty straightforward build... I had to hack the "SS" badge out of another kit's grille and glue it in this one, but otherwise it'll be box stock. Paint is Tamiya TS-54 Light Blue Metallic, darn close to the LeMans Blue. (thanks for the suggestion guys)

Body's done. The kit even came with the right rallye wheels, so this should be a refreshing build.

Don't you just love those box stock straight forward builds every now and then? Does this make project #8? That color looks very similar to the color of my Harley, Nice!

Re: WIP - Customer's 1969 Camaro SS350 Convertible

Getting started on the engine... Interior's basically done except seatbelts. Gauges are detailed with art pencils. I had to fabricate the shifter and part of the shift console out of scrap styrene, since every single Camaro kit I have has a stick, and this is an automatic with the slap-shifter. I think it'll turn out alright, though it's not fully painted in the pics yet. Door panels were detailed with BMF, carpet is an old babywipe.

I was wondering what happened to this thread. Good work on that console and door panels. I have to try that baby wipe trick one of these days.

Engine together, wired and installed in the chassis. Just about ready for final assembly.

Engine is looking pretty good there, as well as the whole bay.

Re: WIP - Customer's 1969 Camaro SS350 Convertible

Got a little more detail work done, both on the body and here on the engine bay, added the hood latch and horns, wiper fluid bottle, and re-did the chrome on the windshield surround.
