im not pro at drawing, so if there is a (or few) good tutorials on proportion and shading, im sure there will be more than one happy person lol

First, check out the AF tutorial list. Not sure whether they are all still working, but at least a few should.

Also look for AF member "mycorollas". He has some great tutorials on his website.

If you want to learn about rendering and drawing cars, I suggest you take a look at "How to draw cars like a pro" by Thom Taylor. It's an excellent book that will teach you how to draw and render cars with reflections and what not.
