97 Firebird stereo installation

So I just bought a 97 Firebird and I'm really not big a fan of the stock stereo that is in it at the moment. I have a CD player that I'm willing to take out of my old Celica and throw in there, my question is are there going to be any problems as far as theftlock is concerned? Or is that only for the stock stereo, like could I just take out the old, throw in the new and be done with it? Or is it more complicated than that?

hard to say ..... you may want to hit up the guys in the pontiac or chevy forums, they would know more about specific stuff for that car.
