base out of mids
I have an alpine 9845 head unit runnin 2 10' type R's (powered by a massive rs50 amp). My problem, however, is that on many of my songs i have too much bass coming out of my mid range speakers (coaxial). the mid ranges cant handle the bass and sound like crap when the volume is up loud. Any ideas on how to adjust this?

Re: base out of mids
you have 2 options: get bass blockers or set the crossovers on the HU to where it does not sound like crap

Re: base out of mids
Turn the bass down on your HU(headunit)...should be able to hold down a button and access your bass/treble/mid controls...or just get some bass blockers

Re: base out of mids
does the 9845 have built in crossovers?

Re: base out of mids
I see this as a couple options, you might be clipping the signal to the mids...
1. Amp the mids so you don't clip the signal 2. Change the crossover 3. Bass blockers (last resort) |
