Subaru WRC Monte Carlo 05" 99% Done

"Didn't no if to put this in w.i.p or here as its like 99% done."

Hey, this is my Tamiya Subaru WRC Monte Carlo 05"

All OOB with a few extra details added here and there, like wiring for interior etc. It has gravel dust on it for my mini Diorama as it is going to be my comp car. Im very happy with the result, still need to do some things under the car, indicators etc. I had some problems with the decals thats y one is missing! first time clearing with Tamiya and some of the decals developed some bubbles.

here are the pics. Please enjoy!

Im working out how to take better pics, i think these are alright? Thankyou!

Nice model !

But if you expect to show it on a diorama don't choose a gravel one for a MC car !

You also may increase the dirty effects cos' 2005 MC was snowy and dirty; especially for teh wheels that seem very clean.

rest is perfect !

Don't worry you did it fine !
BTW "wrong" is not the right word, better only say "not enough" if we're talking about dirty effect, but once more, it's already very good and well done like it is now.
What I said above was just to improve the whole thing, model + diorama, or better said to give it a little bit more accuracy.

But rally always starts somewhere before cars have come completely dirty !!
that could finally be your diorama !
I am not sure I would dare to completely (well, I mean what it has to be) cover one of my cars with dirty effects even for such a nice diorama !1
BTW I never did that except for failled build !

Nice finish on the subaru. One note on the photos, try adjusting the levels of the pics if you have photoshop or other editors. They appear a little dark now.

Re: Subaru WRC Monte Carlo 05" 99% Done

Good looking build. I certainly like the look of the '04/'05 STi, and it was a better season for Solberg than '06.

For taking better pics, your biggest problem seems to be light. They're underexposed, which can likely be fixed either by using more light, or changing the settings on your camera. Or do both.

And for not being into rally, why not??!! Give it a try, if you're into cars it's easy to get hooked on. WRC coverage is easy to find on the net- I know sites that have '05, '06', and Monte Carlo '07 availible. Watch coverage for any day of the rally, and it will give you an excellent feel for how the cars look after a few stages on slushy tarmac.

Re: Subaru WRC Monte Carlo 05" 99% Done

Yep, i'd say im into it but not as much as some people, like i no most of the cars, drivers, idea of usually who wins etc. Petter Solberg is my favorite driver and yes did have a horrible season! Agreed about the 04/05 car it has to be the best one so far. The new one isnt to bad but still cant get my head fully around it. Rally master about adding the mud im not so keen on it because it might ruin my model as it will be a first time. Thankyou for the nice feedback! and the reason for the light is because i think its a lack of light!

I have looked all over for references for Monte Carlo '05 but have found very little.. Where can I find these sites you wrote about?
