1992 leaf spring removal technic

the rear leaf spring is creaking at the end bushings. The official way to remove the leaf spring to replace the bushing requires a special tool to compress these leaf springs. the tool is not readily available and lists for $800. has anyone improvised a way to R&R the rear leaf springs without the fancy tool?
thanks

I dont know how the bushing is actually fastened to the spring, but i do know if you lift the car body till the wheel hangs down, you can put a block of wood on top of a floor or bottle jack, under the spring close to the end, and lift the spring up off its seat, i dont know if that would help or not, i did that to mine several times, why? i put a gob of graphite grease under the spring end to stop the creaking.

Moog chassis parts makes these neat teflon spacers that install at the ends..replacing the factory rubber tips. Very easy to install...very inexpensive !
