Cherokee starts but then dies...
I have a 93 cherokee sport with 190,000 miles on it. The other day was really cold and I was driving fine all day, until the car suddenly completey died on me. I was able to start it up the next day and let it run for a little while (it was less cold, too). Then today I got it started and running and two blocks later it died again. Is it the alternator?

Re: Cherokee starts but then dies...
when it died was there anything (turning over or just not starting, very dim or no dash lights or head lights)
If you think its a battery or a charging system problem run and don't walk to your local Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, or AutoZone and they will check those systems for you for free. They will install a new battery if you buy it from them... Please post back with what the problem was |

Have you ever replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor? A bad one could cause the problems you're experiencing. Has it ever cut off before?

For CPS replacement look at the sticky at the top of this forum....you can also search....it is covered in 'mucho' detail in many instances.
