Re: o2 sensors????
you have three other options other than splicing. They make extensions so you dont have to cut any wires. Or you could find someone with lt1 programming software and have the two rear o2 sensors edited out....i think the lt1 motors had 4 didnt they??? Or you could get o2 simulators to replace your o2 sensors.
take your pick

Re: o2 sensors????
removing oxygen sensors on a fuel injection setup is just a bad idea. it creates drivability problems like, poor gas mileage, a constant rich air/fuel ratio, and decreased engine effieciency. just splice the wires and make them longer: a very simple process. use a similar guage/size wire, and make sure it is tied up and routed away from touching the headers.

Re: o2 sensors????
If you remove the pre cat o2 sensors you will have problems. The rear o2 sensors don't do anything but tell the computer that the cats are working properly. I have LT headers and do not have drivability problems. Your check engine light will be on and that is a pain in the butt but other than that no problems. I am not sure if OBD1's even check the rear o2's might want to check that out also.

Re: o2 sensors????
well i was just going to buy some extensions for the 2 o2 sensors that are before the cats from http://www.lmperformance.com/4116/2.html , and i can get 12 to 34 inches. i think that would be a good way to go. let me know what you guys think.
thanks kyle

Re: o2 sensors????
Good.
Never splice an O2 wire. Incorrect readings will be had.

Re: o2 sensors????
ok. i stand corrected. i have little experience with ODBII system. I was not aware there were rear O2 sensors on 4th gens.

Re: o2 sensors????
Ha, I spliced my driver's side O2 wires and bought a new O2 sensor and a pre-made extension for the passenger side. I bought a new O2 because the other one was stuck in the manifold.
But I drove around for a few days with only the driver's side installed because I was waiting on my other parts. Never had an SES or codes either. |

Re: o2 sensors????
the pre-cat rear sensor shoudl still be there to maintain your AF trms... long term i believe.
Post cat is useless and can be deleted (tuned out)... its only purpose in life is to pop up codes when you remove your cat
